The letters 'CFP' stand for Certified Financial Planner. Holding the CFP mark and being a Certified Financial Planner means an individual is dedicated to the highest level of professionalism in providing advice on financial planning.

Obtaining the CFP requires education, examination, experience and ethics. The certification process takes several years, demanding great effort, ability and commitment. This continues after certification as Certified Financial Planners are required to continually upgrade and add to their knowledge/skills.

Only the Financial Planning standards Council (FPSC) in Canada can authorize an individual to use the CFP mark or call themselves a Certified Financial Planner. The FPSC publishes licensed individuals on their website (click here to check my status).

Work with a Certified Financial Planner and accept nothing less.
